  • What does a fractional CMO actually do?
    A fractional CMO provides executive-level marketing leadership on a part-time basis. They help companies develop and execute strategic marketing initiatives without committing to hiring a CMO full-time. A fractional CMO’s key responsibilities are strategy, resourcing, and leadership. We ensure we have the best talent for every role and that everyone knows their role, is held accountable, and is supported to get the results needed.
  • When is a company ready for a fractional CMO?
    If you have a clear need for strategic marketing leadership but aren’t ready or able to hire a full-time CMO, then chances are your company is ready for a fractional CMO. This is often the case during periods of growth, restructuring, or when entering new markets.
  • How long is a fractional CMO engagement?
    Our fractional CMO engagements typically last at least six months, ensuring enough time to implement and see the impact of strategic initiatives.
  • How is a fractional CMO engagement set up?
    Based on your company’s unique needs, we’ll agree on a specific number of hours per week or month. This structure provides flexibility while ensuring consistent progress.
  • What is your goal as a fractional CMO?
    Our goal as a fractional CMO is to align with your business objectives then drive the necessary outcomes to achieve them.
  • What is the best way to work with founders pre-revenue?
    Consulting calls are the most effective way to support pre-revenue founders. You can also purchase a block of hours that can be used for one-off strategies, tool selection, or agency guidance.
  • What is your availability for interim roles?
    Currently, we can offer interim services for up to 20 hours per week, so just reach out directly to discuss your needs. We’re expanding soon – so don’t be shy about sharing your greater future needs!
  • How do your strategy projects work?
    We start by discussing the project to determine the best approach for achieving your desired outcome. From there, we outline the time, duration, and costs involved – then the fun can begin!
  • Does Traction Hero work 100% remote or do you provide onsite work?
    We do the majority of our work remotely but can arrange onsite visits. Whether just for important meetings or at a regular frequency, we’ll work out the remote/onsite split best for our specific arrangement.
  • Do you work with non-tech companies?
    Yes, we do! Our customizable capabilities can supercharge traditional business models and entities just the same. We also advise agencies on their proposals, offerings, and audience targeting.
  • Who do you work with in an organization?
    It varies according to company size but, most often, we collaborate with founders, CEOs, COOs/VPs of Operations, CMOs/VPs of Marketing, and Marketing Directors.
  • How do we help with hiring?
    We work closely with you to identify the exact requirements of the role and its level within your organization. We then develop the job description and hiring guide, and collaborate with HR to conduct initial screening interviews. From there, we conduct first round interviews and simultaneously refine the selection process as we go with HR and your team. Finally, we assist in creating an onboarding process and guide for your new hire.
  • Do you embed into our team?
    For fractional CMO and interim roles needing 5+ hours per week, our typical team embedding will include joining your email, Slack, and document management systems.
  • Do you work with individual marketers to help advance their careers?
    Absolutely! We mentor team members within companies and also work directly with individual marketers to help them boost their careers and improve their work.
